General Information: Our mission at House of Charity is to: feed those in need, house those experiencing homelessness, and empower individuals to achieve independence. Our programs and services: Free public meals at the Food Centre, 714 Park Avenue - We are the only public lunch program in Minneapolis open 365 days a year. We provide free, hot, nutritious meals in a safe and respectful environment to everyone who walks through our doors, no questions asked. Monday-Friday: Women's Breakfast 8:30 - 9:00 am Noon - 1:00 pm Lunch Weekends: 10:30 - 11:30 am. Brunch Transitional Housing- Housing is open to single adult men and women experiencing long-term homelessness; on-site case management is available to all residents. Additionally, residents are provided with three meals a day and free laundry facilities. 116 beds total:103 Group Residential Housing (GRH) Beds, 3 Self-Pay Beds- We rent these beds at below market rate rent to clients after they secure employment or benefits and are ready to move to permanent housing, and 10 Beds set aside for homeless veterans through a contract with the VA to provide housing and support services. Permanent Supportive Housing: Housing First- Housing First is a nationally-recognized model for addressing the needs of the long-term homeless. We place qualified clients into permanent housing in the community, while continuing to provide support through case management. Day by Day - Outpatient Mental Health & Chemical Dependency Treatment Program: Open to adults with mental health and/or chemical dependency issues with separate programs for women and men. Public Shower: Our public shower is located at our Residential building at 510 South 8th Street. Guests are provided with towels and soap.
